In-Room Recycling
Being sustainable was never a fringe movement for us. Inspired by the towering trees and pristine coastline here, eco-friendliness is simply a way of appreciating and caring for where we live; this mindfulness is something you may sense during your time here, too. We all can improve our waste habits to ensure more materials are composted and recycled. In room, you can find 2 different bins, located near the desk. For your convenience, find below a list of all in-room items and the proper way to discard them:
the small black bin is for waste (garbage and organics)
the small blue bin is for small recycling (plastics, aluminum, cans and bottles, glass, paper & paper bag, etc.)

We are proud to work with Soap For Hope, a Victoria-based non-profit organization that collects and repurposes hotel hygiene products, linens, and lost & found which would otherwise end up in landfills. They transform these discarded products and distribute them to people in need.
You do not need to sort out products you will find in the bathroom; our Housekeeping Team will do it for you!

Commercial Program (Soon in Tofino)
In November 2022, The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) has introduced a new organics collection service for the residents of Tofino, Ucluelet and some surrounding west coast communities.
The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District is currently working on a commercial program (including all businesses), set to start by the end of 2023. Note that we are working closely with ACRD to implement the new program as soon as it is available.
In the meantime, our kitchen at The Pointe Restaurant is already collecting all of the green waste (vegetable scraps, etc.) through our in-house compost. Should you have any questions regarding compost or recycling, please ask our team members at the Guest Reception Desk or email sustainability@wickinn.com.
